It’s (y)our building!

Preston Bus StationAn online petition went live today inviting people who work, live or study within the Council’s boundaries to request an open debate about the city’s iconic Preston Bus Station. 1,350 signatures of support from council taxpayers in Preston must be secured by January 16 to force its future to be debated at full council.

On a similar line, the Society remain in contact with WMF, who last month accepted our bid for ‘British Brutalism’ and have included Preston Bus Station in their 2012 Watch List, and Preston City Council, who have recently expressed their intention to open discussions about the future of the bus station with interested parties.

  1. Thank you Christina, I have now passed the required 1,350 signatures to trigger a debate on ‘The Future of Preston Bus Station’. This will take place on the 2nd February 2012. Hopefully by then Ben Casey will be on board with new designs. We have over 1,500 signatures on paper and 158 on the ePetition online at Preston City Council web site.
